This is information you must understand if you: drink MILK, or diet soda; wear cotton; or eat anything made from honey, corn, soybeans, alfalfa, canola, or wheat.

Monsanto has been destroying our planet ever since THEY used agent orange in the Vietnam War. Monsanto is collecting natural seeds and replacing them with genetically modified organisms = GMOs. Monsanto is responsible for agent orange, aspartame in pop and food, rBGH in dirty milk, cancer causing PCBs, and round-up on 70% of our food crops. Monsanto has created the VERY real possibility for extinction of very important food crop species like corn, cotton, canola, and soybeans.

In May 1992, Vice President Dan Quayle announced the FDA's anti consumer right-to-know policy which stated that GMO foods need NOT be labeled nor safety-tested. Meanwhile, prominent scientists such as Arpad Pusztai and Gilles-Eric Seralini have publicized alarming research revealing severe damage to animals (monkeys, lab rats) fed GMO foods including: sterilization, miscarriages, cancer, NEW allergies, seizures, and DEATH!!!

90% of all Heritage Crops grown in the USA
in 1900 were extinct by 1950!

99% of North American wild bees died in the 1990s!

The FDA does NOT require labels for GMO foods although there is massive opposition to GMO's in Europe. Currently about 75% of all processed food in the USA has "Genetically Modified" (GM) ingredients.

What is Genetically Modified (GMO) Food?

RoundUpCurrently about 75% of all processed food in the USA has GMO ingredients. This is information you must understand if you eat anything made from corn, soybeans, alfalfa, canola, cottonseed oil, or wheat. The USA is currently the only country that does NOT require labels for GMO foods. (There is massive opposition to GMO's in europe).

GMO food is almost anything that comes in a box, can, or bag at the grocer (although GMOs are currently banned in the EU & Canada) - GMOs cause cancer, sterility, farmer suicides, and worse. The "organic" label means less than 5% contaminated; only "100% Organic" is safe and are typically labeled as GMO-frée. The safest milk is labeled "NO rBGH - NO rBST" - but those cows probably eat GMO alfalfa & pig feed (meat), and are pumped with antibiotics to combat factory farm diseases; the rBGH cows get udder infections (mastitis) and pus also gets in the milk; yes, all that stuff is STILL in the milk in the grocer (3%-19% pus).

100s of American farmers have been sued, and 1000s of foreign farmers have commit suicide by drinking Monsanto's Round-Up after their GMO "Round-Up Ready" crops fail. Once people understand HOW GMO food is created, it's easy to understand why we shouldn't be eating it nor releasing it into the environment.

Foods containing GMOs don't have to be labeled in the USA. Monsanto has fought hard to prevent labeling laws. This is alarming, since approximately 70% of processed foods in the US now contain GMO ingredients. The European Union, Japan, China, Korea, Australia, New Zealand and many other nations now require mandatory GMO labeling.

GMOs Are Banned in Dozens of Countries!

GMOs are BANNED in: USA (Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, Vermont), EU, UK, Africa, Algeria, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway, Paraguay, Philippines, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, Tasmania, and Thailand.

USA: Various bills calling for moratoria on GMO food (Vermont), BANS of GMO wheat (North Dakota, Montana) have been filed within the last year. Several municipalities declared moratoria on GMO food (Burlington, Vermont), BANS of GMO crops (City of Boulder, Colorado), or urged the federal government to BAN GMO food (City and County of San Francisco, California). Many attempts to adopt such bills or resolutions failed in the past.

UK: The Church of England has refused permission for GMO crop trials on 60,000 hectares of its land, dozens of local authorities supply GMO free school lunches, the House of Commons BANNED GMO foods for its catering. The vote of the Welsh Assembly to keep Wales GMO free was counteracted by the ministry of Agriculture approving a GMO maize variety. The Island of Jersey BANNED GMO crops.

Algeria: BANNED the import, distribution, commercialization and utilization of GMO plants except for research purposes.

Australia: The State of Tasmania BANNED GMO rapeseed as weed, Western Australia has BANNED commercial GMO planting. Australian States are given the right to declare themselves GMO free. Some communities (e.g. Bondi/Sydney, West Wimmera Shire) declared themselves GMO free.

Austria: BANS on three GMO maize (Novartis, Monsanto and AgrEvo), the Federal Institute for Less-Favoured and Mountainous Areas is pressing for GM free legislation and published a study on GMO-free zones, initiatives in the States of Vorarlberg and Salzburg to BAN GMO trials.

Brazil: Planting GMO seeds is prohibited by federal law in Brazil for the time being, the States of Rio Grande do Sul and Mato Grosso do Sul have declared their intentions to remain GM-free, 18 States called upon the Central government to block commercial GMO crop planting.

Egypt: Declared not to import GMO wheat.

France: BAN of PGS and AgrEvo HR rapeseed

Germany: BAN of Novartis Bt maize. The initiative "No GMO on communal land" of BUND (Friends of the Earth Germany) launched activities in several German communities to discuss and vote on the GMO-free resolutions. Application are launched in: Bad Vilbel, Blauenstein, Lahr, Konstanz, Hannover, Hamburg. Application are accepted in: M¸nchen, Reutlingen, Freidrichsdorf, Blomberg, Seligenstadt, Niddatal, Maintal, Riedstadt, Adendorf, Schwebheim, Pinneberg, Schwabach, Langenhagen, Wyhe, Burgdorf, Neetze, District Traunstein. Several protestant regional church organisations: BANNED GMO crops from their land: Hannover, Hessen und Nassau, Sachsen, Protestantic Church of Westfalen, Protestantic Church in Berlin-Brandenburg, Church Province of Sachsen.

Greece: BAN of AgrEvo HR rapeseed, moratorium of GMO crop trials.

Italy: The four regions Tuscany, Molise, Lazio and Marche and around 25 provinces, cities and communes BANNED GMO crops, including Rome, Milan, Turin, Brescia and Genoa. These are all democratically-taken decisions in local or regional councils and in the case of Tuscany, the result has been ratified by the national government - the decision means that regional governments have been given the authority under Italian law to overturn decisions taken at EU level.

Luxembourg: BAN of Novartis Bt maize.

New Zealand: Some local bodies in Auckland and Wellington have declared themselves GM free. Trials with GMO salmon have been blocked by the government.

Norway: BANNED the import of several GMO crops and products which contain antibiotic resistance genes.

Paraguay: The Ministry of Agriculture plans to BAN GMO crops from commercial planting.

Philippines: The community of Valencia called for a five-year moratoria on GMO food and GMO crop trials and commercialization. The Philippine president announced a moratorium on GMO crop research.

Portugal: BAN of Novartis Bt maize.

Saudi Arabia: BANNED food that are made from GMOs and declared not to import GMO wheat.

Spain: The Basque Government went for a five year blanket moratorium for GMOs. The Basque Government claims full powers for agricultural policy and thus that they can provisionally BAN GMOs if they so wish. The three provinces of Castilla-La Mancha and Baleares BANNED GMO food, AndalucÌa declared a five year moratorium on GMO crop trials and GMO food.

Switzerland: Although a center of GMO science and industry, only two trials with GMO potatoes in 1991/92 have been performed until now.

Thailand: BANNED imports of 40 GMO crops for commercial planting, but not for research purposes.

Lack of Adequate FDA/USDA Safety Testing

In May 1992, Vice President Dan Quayle announced the FDA's anti consumer right-to-know policy which stated that GMO foods need NOT be labeled nor safety-tested. Meanwhile, prominent scientists such as Arpad Pusztai and Gilles-Eric Seralini have publicized alarming research revealing severe damage to animals (monkeys, lab rats) fed GMO foods including: sterilization, miscarriages, cancer, NEW allergies, seizures, and DEATH!!!

GMOs Create Unknown Side-Effects

GMO foods have been proven on animals & mammals in laboratory tests to CAUSE:
NEW allergies, GMO trait transfers, seizures, brain lesions, cancers, organ failure, sterility,
stillborn, miscarriages, birth defects, 50% infant mortality rates, and even death!

By mixing genes from totally unrelated species, genetic engineering unleashes a host of unpredictable side effects. Moreover, irrespective of the type of genes that are inserted, the very process of creating a GMO plant can result in massive collateral damage that produces new toxins, allergens, carcinogens, and nutritional deficiencies.

Monsanto's GMO Foods are Unhealthy!

The American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) urges doctors to prescribe non-GMO diets for all patients. They cite animal studies showing organ damage, gastrointestinal and immune system disorders, accelerated aging, and infertility. Human studies show how genetically modified (GM) food can leave material behind inside us, possibly causing long-term problems. Genes inserted into GM soy, for example, can transfer into the DNA of bacteria living inside us, and that the toxic insecticide produced by GM corn was found in the blood of pregnant women and their unborn fetuses.

Numerous health problems increased after GMOs were introduced in 1996. The percentage of Americans with three or more chronic illnesses jumped from 7% to 13% in just 9 years; food allergies skyrocketed, and disorders such as autism, reproductive disorders, digestive problems, and others are on the rise. Although there is not sufficient research to confirm that GMOs are a contributing factor, doctors groups such as the AAEM tell us not to wait before we start protecting ourselves, and especially our children who are most at risk.

The American Public Health Association and American Nurses Association are among many medical groups that condemn the use of GM bovine growth hormone, because the milk from treated cows has more of the hormone IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor 1) - which is linked to cancer.

No CAC / FDA GMO Labeling Standards

GMO Nutrition Facts: None of Your Business
Foods containing GMOs don't have to be labeled in the USA. Monsanto has fought hard to prevent labeling laws. This is alarming, since approximately 70% of processed foods in the US now contain GMO ingredients. The European Union, Japan, China, Korea, Australia, New Zealand and many other nations now require mandatory GMO labeling.

A few corporations have been allowed to genetically alter many of our most important food crops, with little or no regulation. Most egregiously, under pressure from the biotechnology industry, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has refused to regulate GE foods, failing to require any mandatory health or environmental labeling or testing of these foods. Yet consumers now more than ever want GE foods to be labeled so they have a choice in the marketplace. In fact, polls consistently show that more than 80% of Americans want GE foods to be labeled.

Monsanto sued Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc., one of the first companies to label its ice cream as free of a synthetic hormone, is protesting a move by some states to restrict such labeling.

NO rBSTThe FDA does not require special labels for products produced from cows given rBST but has charged several dairies with "misbranding" their milk as having no hormones, because all milk contains hormones and cannot be produced in such a way that it would not contain any hormones.

Monsanto sued Oakhurst Dairy of Maine over their use of a label which pledged to not use artificial growth hormones. The dairy stated that their disagreement was not over the scientific evidence for the safety of rBST (Monsanto's complaint about the label), but "We're in the business of marketing milk, not Monsanto's drugs." The suit was settled when the dairy agreed to add a qualifying statement to their label: "FDA states: No significant difference in milk from cows treated with artificial growth hormones." The FDA recommends this additional labeling but does not require it. The settlement itself caused much controversy, with anti-rBST advocates claiming that Oakhurst had capitulated in response to intimidation by a larger corporation and others claiming that Oakhurst's milk labels were in and of themselves using misleading scare tactics that deserved legal and legislative response.

GMO Crops Do NOT Increase Yields!

Genetically Modified GMO Biohazard Crops
Do you know what a ***YIELD DRAG*** is? the last batch of GMO corn in South Africa came up 80% SEEDLESS at harvest time! South African farmers suffered millions of dollars in lost income when 82,000 hectares of genetically-manipulated corn (maize) failed to produce hardly any seeds.

A major UN / World Bank sponsored report compiled by 400 scientists and endorsed by 58 countries concluded that GMO crops have little to offer to the challenges of poverty, hunger, and climate change. Better alternatives are available, and the report championed organic farming as the sustainable way forward for developing countries. One of the best options is organic Permaculture.

In 1999, a review of Roundup Ready soybean crops found that, compared to the top conventional varieties, they had a 6.7% LOWER yield. This so called "yield drag" follows the same pattern observed when other traits are introduced into soybeans by conventional breeding. Monsanto claims later patented varieties yield 7-11% higher than their poorly performing initial varieties, closer to those of conventional farming, although the company refrains from citing actual yields. Monsanto's 2006 application to USDA states that RR2 (mon89788) yields 1.6 bu LESS than A3244, the conventional variety that the trait is inserted into.

Farmer Suicides After GMO Crop Failures

There have been 125,000+ small farmer suicides in the past decade, and about 4000+/year *REPORTED* in India. In 2006, 1,044 suicides were reported in Vidarbha alone - that's one suicide every eight hours.

Shankara, like millions of other Indian farmers, had been promised previously unheard of harvests and income if he switched from farming with traditional [ORGANIC REUSABLE] seeds to planting GM [GENETICALLY MODIFIED STERILE CARCINOGENIC NON-ORGANIC] seeds instead. Beguiled by the promise of future riches, he borrowed money in order to buy the GM seeds. But when the harvests failed, he was left with spiralling debts - and no income. So Shankara became one of an estimated 125,000 farmers to take their own life as a result of the ruthless drive to use India as a testing ground for genetically modified crops.... 'We are ruined now,' said [another farmer's] 38-year-old wife. 'We bought 100 grams of BT Cotton. Our crop failed twice. My husband had become depressed. He went out to his field, lay down in the [GMO BT] cotton and swallowed insecticide [MONSANTO's ROUNDUP]"

Top 10 Reasons to Label Genetically Engineered (GMO) Food

  1. The Convention on Biodiversity recognizes that genetic engineering is a threat to amount and variety of life on the planet.
  2. Scientists reviewing data from Monsanto's own studies "have proven that genetically engineered foods are neither sufficiently healthy or proper to be commercialized".
  3. Biotech's scattershot technique of spraying plant cells with a .22 birdshot of foreign genes that hit chromosomes in random spots would trigger the expression of new allergens and change the character of plant proteins.
  4. INGREDIENTS: Contains Genetically Modified Soybean OilThe more genetically engineered corn fed to mice, the fewer babies they had and the smaller the babies were.
  5. The third generation of hamsters fed genetically engineered soy suffered slower growth, a high mortality rate, and a bizarre birth defect: fur growing in their mouths. Many also lost the ability to have pups (sterility).
  6. Animals fed genetically engineered feed ARE different from animals fed conventional and organic feed.
  7. A single serving of genetically engineered soy can result in "horizontal gene transfer," where the bacteria in the human gut adopts the soy's DNA.
  8. Genetically engineered foods ARE different from conventional and organic foods.
  9. Genetically engineered foods have not been tested to determine whether they are safe for human consumption.
  10. Almost all non-organic processed food or animal products in the U.S. today contain ingredients that come from genetically engineered crops or from animals given genetically engineered feed, vaccines or growth hormones.

List of Possible GMO Ingredients

The 5 main Monsanto GMOs are: corn (maize), soy beans (soya), canola (rapeseed), cotton (cottonseed oil), and alfalfa (livestock fodder). BASF is known for GMO rice. Also MSG, TRANS-fats, Aspartame, and even vegetables like tomatoes and potatoes. Zuchinni, yellow squash, Hawaiian papaya, Sugar Beets (listed as "sugar")... Chickens, Pigs, Cows, rBGH/rBST milk

Cultivation of Monsanto corn was already BANNED in Germany. That's not really corn on your plate; it's just a pesticide that looks like corn. 80%+ of USA corn is seed made in a laboratory and has a number rather than a name like "corn" or "maize"... MON810 is what we eat in the USA, it's a GMO corn that produces BT (Bacillus thuringiensis) bacteria toxins in every cell including the part we eat, the entire plant is actually classified as a "pesticide". the African harvest was 80% seedless. our exports keep getting rejected because Europeans, Africans, Russians, even Chinese won't eat GMO corn - so they reject any contaminated import shipments. GMO corn is banned from using as animal feed in some countries. GMO corn causes cancer, organ failure in rats, sterility and a biotech company is even trying to put spermicide into OUR corn! WTF?!? Most GMO corn is made in laboratories by Monsanto, Bayer, Dow (Hitler's chemical companies).

MonoSodium Glutamate (MSG)

Most packaged foods have MSG added to prolong shelf life. MSG is a non-digestible GMO that your body stores as blubber because it doesn't know how to process this foreign compound. MSG is not a "food", and almost exactly the same as aspartame, chemically. MSG is NOT as it says in wikipedia "a naturally occurring non-essential amino acid"... but MSG is REALLY a genetically modified science experiment with NON-ORGANIC GMO bacterial fermentation, typically ecoli fed petroleum OIL that defecate "GMOs" such as MSG or aspartame (nutrasweet). The PLU code (price lookup number), tells you the following:

  • 5-digit number, beginning with the #9 = organic.
  • 5-digit number, beginning with the #8 = GMO or genetically modified food.
  • 4-digit number means grown by conventional (code for chemical) means.

The other numbers pertain to the actual product's information,
different by store and location.
